The word Intramuros literally means "within the walls"
This pre-historic city was built during the Spanish era and up to now this walled city was maintained some places might have change may be because of the natural calamities over the decades and others for further development. But, nothing to worry the ancient era in the walled city can still be felt :)
It is so cool exploring our own history ! when i was a kid we had our field trip here but I did not understand the essence but know I enjoyed it :)
I was suppose to go on duty because I thought my duty schedule is 6am but it was moved i got the afternoon shift ! >< Lucky Me my boyfriend is just around and his work starts at around 9am so we wondered off to the walled city at around 7am.. ( i guess were to early hahahahhaha ! )
and yes ! after waiting for more than an hour FORT SANTIAGO IS OPEN....
ME & MY BOYFRIEND were the first to enter the park and this Spanish suited guard greeted us and gave us a warm welcome and because of his suite i was amazed so i just can't help my self to take a picture with him. ^_^
CANON ? for a toy? hehehehhehe ! for my boyfriend it is ... he is into old fashion things because he gets easily amazed by it. But, kidding aside it is so cool to preserve something like this for more than decades.
See how people manage to preserve even the last walk of RIZAL before he was executed at the Bagumbayan (Luneta / Rizal park)
OUTSIDE FORT SANTIAGO:
EXPLORING OUR OWN IS MUCH MORE RELAXING, FUN, AND EDUCATIONAL ! :)
